  • Teseq PMU 6003 power meter
Teseq has introduced the PMU 6003 to its power meter range.
  • Emerson Network Power Avocent Universal Management Gateway appliance
Emerson Network Power has introduced the Avocent Universal Management Gateway, claimed to be the first data centre appliance that enables true real-time integrated monitoring, access and control across IT and facilities systems in the data centre.
  • Maxim MAX2982 transceiver for harsh industrial environments
Maxim has introduced the MAX2982, said to be the first broadband, HomePlug 1.0-compliant, powerline communications transceiver for harsh industrial environments. It is integrated and offers design flexibility. An enhanced ‘robust’ mode provides a receiver that operates at -1dB signal-to-noise ratio to ensure reliable communications in noise.
  • Innovative Energies No-Break DC power range with SNMP
Innovative Energies now has the SNMP protocol added to its No-Break DC range of battery chargers and power supplies.
  • Setec BMS-001 battery monitor
The BMS-001 is a battery monitor that continuously monitors 12 V lead acid batteries, acting as a ‘fuel gauge’, to estimate the state of charge and time remaining to discharge.
  • Maxim MAX11068 battery-monitoring IC
Maxim has introduced the MAX11068, a high-voltage, 12-cell, battery-monitoring IC for hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and any system that stacks long series strings of batteries. It employs a SMBus-laddered communication bus that allows multiple 11068s to be daisy chained together without isolators.
  • Innovative Energies No-Break DC (i) series battery charger
The No-Break DC (i) series battery charger has been designed primarily to remotely monitor battery-backed control systems.
  • North Atlantic iPM DSP-based intelligent power monitor & control unit
North Atlantic Industries (NAI) has released a next-generation, DSP-based intelligent power monitor and control unit. The model iPM monitors single- or 3-phase wye or delta connected power lines for voltage, frequency, phase sequence, THD and DC component. When any of these parameters are outside of their preprogrammed limits, the iPM internal 10 A relay opens and disconnects the power from the load. The device has a universal input voltage range of 80 to 230 RMS and a universal input frequency range of 47 to 800 Hz. It includes a background self-test capability that constantly monitors the health of the unit.
  • Battery management
Microchip Technology has announced two families of charge-management controllers featuring overvoltage protection to prevent overheating and damage to the battery-charger circuit from input-voltage spikes.
  • Battery management IC
International Rectifier has introduced the AUIRS2003S 200 V IC for low-, mid- and high-voltage motor vehicle applications including a pre-charge switch and stepper drives and DC-DC converters
  • AC power meters
Murata has introduced a series of four-function AC power meters. The ACM20 series can measure and display AC volts, amps, watts and power factor with a typical accuracy of ±0.5% full-scale. The meters accurately display true-RMS voltage and current values of triangle and square waves plus other irregularly shaped waveforms.
  • Battery monitor
Diodes has announced a miniature current monitor delivering what it claims is the world’s smallest solution size for battery current measurement in portable applications.
  • Energy monitoring
Siemens has added to its range of power management devices with the Sentron PAC4200 multifunction power monitoring device.
  • Power quality control
Schaffner has introduced a digital solution to efficiently reduce power system perturbations with the ECOSine Active.
  • Switching power manager
Linear Technology has announced the LTC4160 and LTC4160-1, the latest members in a family of power manager ICs for single-cell Li-Ion/polymer battery-based applications, including media players, personal navigation devices, digital cameras, PDAs and smart phones.
  • Power monitoring relay
The PQube DIN rail-mountable power and disturbance monitoring replay captures voltage disturbances and time-stamped waveforms, storing captured information on a plug-in 4 GB SD card that provides exportable CSV Excel-compatible and GIF picture files.
