Loggers

Article (1)
  • Acquiring high-speed transient measurements
Typical rapid transient electrical applications are often characterised as ‘mission critical’. In many cases, an engineer or test technician may have just one viable opportunity to capture invaluable diagnostic data for the prevention of damage to machinery, systems and equipment.
Feature (1)
  • The next generation of data loggers: an ecosystem
The data logger has been around for hundreds of years, evolving from an assistant with paper and pencil to the technology-packed, automated products that they can be today. Much like hammers are tools to carpenters, data loggers are tools to scientists, engineers and anyone else working in a measurement environment.

  • Two new options for network-enabling local or remote serial devices
The Multenet Serial Data Buffer connects to a serial port on devices such as PABXs and allows users on an attached LAN (either local or remote) to log into that device and retrieve the stored data. Based on the PocketPAD serial-to-ethernet converters, which simply stream serial data over ethernet (or internet), the Data Buffer stores and forwards serial data when a TCP session is opened with the LAN connection port, which means devices on networks where a TCP connection is not always available (eg, a PABX on a remote site where there is no LAN administrator monitoring the serial command port) can still have historical data captured and made available on demand very inexpensively.
