Omnetics Connector wire to PCB connectors

Omnetics Connector has released a sleek, low-profile connector for taking wires from an I/O connector to a PCB.

To assist designers the company will provide step files or 3D models of its products. The PS1 and SSB series of single-row connectors with micro latch provide a robust solution. The latching system makes assembly easy. The nickel-plated beryllium copper latch engages automatically with an audible click. Disengagement is achieved with the press of a finger. No tools are necessary.

The PS1 connector is typically fixed to the PCB using mounting screws. The leads on the PS1 connector are available in SMT and through-hole solder versions. The mating SSB connector can be bought with soldercups or colour-coded wire and can be attached to the back of standard I/O connectors.

The I/O connector to SSB can be supplied as a complete harness to specifications.

The connector family uses a flex pin contact system. These gold-plated contacts are the same contacts as used in MIL-DTL-83513 Micro-D connectors. The contacts are spaced at 1.27 mm pitch, reducing the need for large areas of board space.

The micro connectors can carry up to 3 A per contact and come in pin counts from 2-48.
