The RF-301 from Taconic is a development of the company’s RF-30 generation. Highest PIM (passive intermodulation) performance, coupled with a good price/performance ratio, is claimed to make it the new standard for DK 3.0 substrates.
It is an organic-ceramic laminate in the ORCER family. It combines woven glass reinforced fluoropolymer chemistry with the thermal, mechanical and electrical enhancements of ceramic elements.
The low dissipation factor, thermal stability and smooth surface profile minimise phase shift with frequency and temperature and yield exceptionally low intermodulation performance.
The device has good peel strength for high-temperature assembly and power handling requirements and it is dimensionally stable due to the use of woven fabrics in its design.
