Sierra Wireless AirLink Fastrack Xtend series programmable gateways

The Sierra Wireless AirLink Fastrack Xtend (FXT) series of programmable gateways for 3G/HSPA, GPRS, EDGE and CDMA enables users to add cellular to an existing non-wireless application or it can serve as a platform to create new products.

The gateways are supported by the Sierra’s Software Suite, formerly known as Wavecom OpenAT. This allows users and integrators to create a robust programming platform to build their own customised applications for their specific deployment.

The gateway can host an entire application enabling the AirLink Fastrack Xtend to be turned into a stand-alone product.

The gateways provide a highly extendable platform for the creation of a wide range of M2M solutions, with versions supporting quad-band GSM/GPRS and EDGE, tri-band HSPA, and CDMA 1xRTT.

They come with both RS232 and USB interfaces and there is an optional battery allowing power over USB. The series features a slot for adding expansion cards, enabling the addition of extra functionalities including GPS, additional IO, ethernet or a customised design of expansion cards

There is full compatibility between the Supreme series and the FXT plus developers can migrate to a 3G/NextG solution.
