Ethernet on GSM/GPRS modem

M2M Connectivity has announced the launch of the FSUE04 IESM (internal expansion socket module) ethernet board for the Wavecom Fastrack Supreme GPRS modem.

This IESM ethernet board (with a 10BaseT RJ45 interface) with the Fastrack Supreme can connect remote serial devices to an ethernet network over GPRS. The ethernet/Fastrack Supreme bundle can also act as a router/gateway using wireless GSM to provide primary network connectivity to any ethernet device or small networks of IP devices.

Other key features of the IESM ethernet FSUE04 include:

  • Internet plug-In allows automatic connection to the internet thanks to TCP/IP;
  • DNS support;
  • DHCP client for automatic configuration or static IP addressing 
  • IP routing and gateway.

Applications include remote connection to ATM and POS, for utilities, and in security and other industrial monitoring sectors.
